一、After the implementation of the nine-year national education system, for the convenience of students, the "Jungong Branch of Taichung Municipal Sixth Junior High School" was established in the academic year 1970 the order of Taichung City Government, dated October 15, 1969, under file No. Fu-Jiao-Zhong 49974.
二、In June 1971, the school’s name was changed to "Jungong Branch of Taichung Municipal Beixin Junior High School." In 1974, it became independent as Taichung Municipal Dongshan Junior High School and merged with the Jungong Elementary School to establish an experimental school for the nine-year integrated curriculum. On July 1st, the school’s name was officially changed to "Taichung Municipal Dongshan Elementary and Junior High School," with Ko Ming-tang, the supervisor of Education Bureau, Taichung City Government, serving as the acting principal.
三、In July 1975, Mr. Tsai, Pen-Chuang was officially appointed as the principal of Taichung Municipal Dongshan Elementary and Junior High School.
四、Starting from August 1, 1980, the school became independent and was officially named Dongshan Junior High School. Mr. Tsai, Pen-Chuang continued to serve as the principal. On August 15, Mr. Tien, Tsui-Heng was appointed as the second principal of the school.
五、On August 12, 1975, Mr. Kuo Pi-Kui was appointed as the third principal of the school. On February 23, 1980, Mr. Chen Chen-Pei was appointed as the fourth principal of the school. On January 24, 1985, Mr. Liu Ying-Ching was appointed as the fifth principal of the school.
六、The school site was located in the Chelongpu fault zone during the September 21, 1999 earthquake, and the school building was severely damaged and had to be relocated and rebuilt; the school resumed classes on October 4 by borrowing from Sanguang Junior High School; and on November 20, simple classrooms in Dakeng campground were opened.
七、On January 28, 2000, Mr. Liu Ying-Ching was reappointed as the principal of the school. On July 30, the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the relocation and reconstruction project commenced.
八、On September 28, 2001, the simple classrooms were moved to the new school building; on September 30, the school relocation and reconstruction project was completed; on October 25, the school relocation and reconstruction project was completed and opened, marking a comeback.
九、On September 17, 2001, Principal Liu was transferred to Beixin Junior High School in Taichung City. Principal Wang Pei-Ching took over and became the sixth principal of the school. On June 30, 2002, the construction of the second phase of the activity center and sports ground project started.
十、On January 9, 2003, the construction of ten specialized classrooms in the third phase began; on May 20, the activity center and sports ground project in the second phase was completed; and on September 30, the ten specialized classrooms in the third phase were completed.
十一、In April 2004, the construction of the second phase of the sports ground and surrounding projects started (three sides of the basketball court and two sides of the tennis and volleyball courts); in November, the second phase of the sports ground and surrounding projects was completed; on November 30, the second phase of the sports ground and surrounding projects have started (a rhythm classroom and the expansion of the auditorium).
十二、On October 25, 2005, Lanren Chingjing was completed and opened. On February 13, 2006, the third phase of the follow-up project (20 classrooms) started; on March 20, Huanglian Yijing and Shuyunya Yachi were opened.
十三、On June 12, 2007, the third phase of the follow-up project (20 classrooms) was completed and put into use.
十四、On January 7, 2008, construction began for the rain shelter walkway, and it was completed on June 20 of the same year. On October 2, it was approved that starting from the academic year 2009, Dongshan Senior High School (with an attached junior high school section) would be reorganized, admitting seven new classes of students (including one sports class).
十五、On the morning of July 28, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., Mayor Hu Chih-chiang of Taichung City presided over the unveiling ceremony of Dongshan Senior High School. On August 1, after receiving unanimous approval from the Taichung City Government Principal Selection Committee, Mr. Wang Pei-Ching was formally appointed as the first principal of Taichung Municipal Dongshan Senior High School.
十六、On November 24, 2010, the Basketball Sports Center was completed.
十七、On January 11, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of additional specialized classrooms and the new library was held. On May 3, 2013, the completion ceremony for the project was conducted.
十八、In March of the year 2013, the school received accreditation as a high-quality high school from the Ministry of Education. On August 1, 2013, Mr. Wang Pei-Ching was reappointed for his second term as the principal.
十九、In March of the year 2014, the Basketball Sports Center's covered court was completed. In April of the same year, the library underwent renovation. On April 21, the school was certified by OCWC as the first in Asia and the third in the world for being an open course high school. In May, it received recognition from the Ministry of Education as the 2014 third-ranked energy-saving and carbon-reducing outstanding school in the country (Bronze Butterfly Award) and the Innovation Pioneer Award. In September, the school was honored with the KDP 2014 National Business Innovation KDP International Certification Award.
二十、In January of the year 2015, the -Wen-xiao-qi open air PU basketball court was renovated. In March of the same year, the library's sky bridge was completed and put into use. In December, the campus's digital security surveillance system was completed.
二十一、In June of the year 2016, following the resolution and approval of the Taichung City Principal Selection Committee, Mr. Kuo Hung-Yao was appointed as the third principal of the school after its reorganization. He officially assumed office on August 1 of the same year.
二十二、In January 2017, the high school boys basketball team advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time in the National High School Boys Basketball League and finished fifth that year.
二十三、In September of the year 2017, the installation of the silent broadcast system for the high school section and the administrative office was completed.
二十四、In January of the year 2018, the sewage improvement project for the teaching building was completed.
二十五、In March of the year 2018, the high school boys' basketball team advanced to the semi-finals for the first time in the National High School Boys' Basketball League, proceeding to Taipei Arena, and finished in fourth place in that year.
二十六、In February 2019, the entire school's wireless network was re-deployed and all teaching areas on campus March 2021, the high school girls softball team won the first championship trophy of the National High School Girls Softball League have wireless access.
二十七、In March 2019, the high school women's volleyball team won three consecutive championships in the National High School Women's Volleyball League.

三十四、In March 2022, the Senior high school girls softball team won the first championship trophy of the National Senior High School Girls Softball League.
